Every picture I've ever made for myself is a part of me: a series of intersections of people, places and happenings. When I find a scene that could be a photograph, I look for the meeting of light, shadow, lines, shapes and sometimes humanity.

So it is with this place. Things have happened to me here. Or happened around me. The black and white tones represent my nostalgia whenever I stop to watch the waves. Blurred water and pale skies frame my totems, leaving room for thought bubbles of memories and remembrances.

The intersections I used in making this picture are more than visually apparent or learned compositional tools; they run deep into memory, even the soul. Perhaps they cross the experiences and memories of anyone who finds these places familiar.

If you know this place, you have your nostalgia. I love that they can exist with my and others' stories from recent yesterdays and across the ages to when original custodians walked these places.
